Dennis Chua is a native of the island of Singapore. He is a member of Phi Sigma Pi National Honors fraternity and is President-Elect of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society. Dennis has recently received an award for community service, The President's Volunteer Service Award. He was jointly awarded this by both the President's Volunteer Office and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS).
The President's Volunteer Service Award is a premier award given to individuals who have dedicated themselves to serving the community and have completed a significant amount of hours of service, and Dennis was awarded the Gold Level, which is the highest level, for his various service commitments including joining a medical brigade in Peru and nursing lions in South Africa.
As a recipient of the award, he received a recognition pin and an award certificate from the President's Volunteer Office, and a letter of congratulations signed by President Barack Obama himself.
Dennis is really excited to be a recipient of this award, and will definitely be committing himself to service for the rest of his life.
