Bio:
Athanassios (Thanos) Panagiotopoulos received an undergraduate degree from the National Technical University of Athens and a Ph.D. from MIT, both in chemical engineering. After a postdoctoral in physical chemistry at the University of Oxford, he has held faculty positions at Cornell and the University of Maryland; he is currently the Susan Dod Brown Professor and Department Chair of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Princeton University. He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
