Shuwen Yue Wins Scialog Award to develop sustainable, low-carbon energy systems

Professor Shuwen Yue, in collaboration with Qi (Tony) Dong from Purdue University and Jihye Kim from the Colorado School of Mines, is among the six cross-disciplinary teams funded in the inaugural year of Scialog: Sustainable Minerals, Metals, and Materials. This three-year initiative aims to drive breakthroughs in the mining, design, manufacturing, and disposal of materials essential for a sustainable, low-carbon energy future.

Each collaborator received a $60,000 award for their project, AI/ML-Assisted Separation and Programmable Electrodeposition of Ni and Co. These awards are jointly funded by the Research Corporation for Science Advancement, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and the Kavli Foundation.
